By Canon Rumors | October 23, 2017 | Third Party Lenses

According to Nokishita, the brand new Tamron 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 Di VC USD that Tamron announced was under development last month, will apparently be available or preorder on October 26, 2017.

We don’t know pricing yet, but I suspect it will come in around the $799 price tag that the Sigma’s 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 DG OS comes in at.

A Major New Cinema EOS Product Coming for NAB 2018

A Major New Cinema EOS Product Coming for NAB 2018

By Canon Rumors | October 22, 2017 | Canon Cinema EOS Rumors

We’re told that a “major new product” will be coming from ahead of NAB 2018 in April. There were no details given beyond that.

However, we have heard various little bits of information from various people over the previous few months. An anamorphic lens, which has been rumored for quite some time should see the light of day for the show.

There also is also the obvious gap between the C300 Mark II and the C700.

We’ve only heard once that a new Cinema EOS DSLR is coming, but that is something we think is a long shot. There has been no mentions of a 4K mirrorless video focus mirrorless camera, and I think we can all agree that would be out of character for Canon.

I don’t think an 8K camera from Canon is coming in 2018.

More to come…

Macphun Showcases Their Digital Asset Manager in Response to Adobe

By Canon Rumors | October 19, 2017 | Repost | Third Party Software

There seems to be a lot of mixed feelings about Adobe Lightroom CC Cloud and Adobe Lightroom Classic CC, as well as the long standing and polarizing subscription based model for most of Adobe’s software.

We’re not here to give our opinion on all of this, we’re going to see how things play out with Macphun’s future software.

Macphun had this to say:

After the recent Adobe news about Lightroom updates, we received a lot of questions about our plans for creating a photo manager, so we’d like to shed some light on this.

At the moment we’re working on the digital asset manager (“DAM”) which will work with both hard drives and cloud storage platforms. It’s going to be the perfect tool for organizing and managing images. Users will be able to run our DAM alongside their LR library and choose which one fits them best.

The new DAM will be added to Luminar in 2018, and will be a free update to everyone who owns Luminar 2018 after it is release. We’ll be sharing more details soon, so keep an eye out for them!

Macphun is asking: What do you plan on doing after the Adobe announcement?
