Woooo! B&H has notified me that they now have the new highly anticipated 300 f/2.8L IS II and 400 f/2.8L IS II in stock. They note they are both in limited quantity.
Are they any good? Both will probably be slightly better than the 18-55 pre IS.
EF 400 f/2.8L IS II Unboxing I don’t normally post unboxings for a few reasons. However, things are slow and there are new cases and lens caps to show off. So here is the 400 f/2.8L IS II coming into someones life.
When will Canon Rumors have them? I have the 300 f/2.8L IS II on order, however I don’t think the 400 is in the near future for me. I’ll have one in the spring.
Woo!
Canon has announced that its EF300mm f/2.8L IS II USM and EF400mm f/2.8L IS II USM telephoto lenses – which feature completely redesigned optical systems, the latest Canon Image Stabilization (IS) technology, new IS and AF Modes and improved build quality – are now shipping to selected dealers.
*UPDATE*
Apparently both of the new teleconverters are delayed as well.
EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM and EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM lenses delayed Following the announcement of the new EF 300mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 400mm f/2.8L IS II USM and EF 8-15mm f/4L Fisheye USM, on 26th August 2010, Canon has now delayed the introduction of these lenses due to some adjustments in the manufacturing process. These lenses are now due to be released in March 2011.
Canon would like to apologise to any customers who will be inconvenienced by these delays.
