A New Flash by Years End? [CR2]

A New Flash by Years End? [CR2]

A replacement to the 430EX II?
We’re told a new flash could be announced before years end, though it wasn’t said whether or not it would be replacing an existing flash or being added to the lineup. The lineup does need a less expensive RT capable Speedlite.

We’re also told that the EOS M lineup will also get a new flash above the 90 EX. I think all it needs is the ability to bounce, not sure why they still make flashes that cant be tilted upwards.

More to come I’m sure..

The Future Speedlites, Not Far Off Now? [CR2]

The Future Speedlites, Not Far Off Now? [CR2]

A new Speedlite or two
We’re told Canon could be announcing two new Speedlites in the first or early second quarter of 2013. Both of the suggested Speedlites could be to replace the current Speedlite 430 EX II. The guide number of the new flashes would be 45. One of them would be compatible with the ST-E3-RT radio transmitter and the other would be a standalone unit without radio capabilities. No mention of whether either would have the af assist light/video light like is found on the EX 320.

There would be no new features to the flash functionality that aren’t found on the Speedlite 600EX-RT. When questioned about the possibility of a Speedlite 600EX without the “RT”, I was told that it was possible, but not in the immediate plans.

New Canon Flash This Fall? [CR2]

New Canon Flash This Fall? [CR2]

A new radio ready flash
A new flash is in the works to replace the Speedlite 430EX II and could come as early as this fall. The new flash will be ready to work with the ST-E3-RT transmitter. The current 430 would be discontinued like the 580 was.

No word if we’ll see a flash smaller than the 430 replacement with RT capabilities. I personally don’t think we’ll see the 3xx series updated to RT.
