Preliminary!
Tough crowd!
Canon is not letting anyone do anything with the camera. Samples and everything are being pulled down all over the web.
Part of why I posted this is because of this iron fist Canon has on testers. If the camera turns out trouble free, then we'll all be happy.
Keep checking back to his site to see the indepth review of the camera. I was just pointing out a guy that has done some good write ups in the past and is a good contributor to Canon Rumors.
Even Mr. Laforet isn't allowed to release much.
First Impressions
A new preview/review is up for the 1D Mark IV. This is very preliminary. I'm sure the final review will be coming closer to the time of release.

“How difficult would it have been to check a few images first on a computer monitor before writing a review like this?”
Did you actually read his article???
The CF Door on the camera was glued closed! He did not have a cable or drivers to download images from the camera.
That makes it reasonably difficult to view them on a computer!!
He used the magnification on the 3″ screen to blow the image up as much as possible to the point where he could see any noise. Thats about all he could do.
I agree. What is canon trying to hide? This sounds a little sketch like maybe they pushed the camera out real fast before it was ready for the masses, and they are afraid there might be some imperfections.
Let’s see some no holds-barred independent reviews.
+1
With this much time before release why not tweak as much as u can before releasing pics? Even if it’s firmware tweaks it’s fine with me. You can preorder without putting money down in many places.
First, let me say that I have no doubt the new 1d4 is going to be a great camera, far beyond most people’s capabilities.
But let’s face reality…there is only one reason why Canon does not want these independent image samples out there, and that is because the camera was not ready.
If everything was great, Canon would want the images released.
When the 7D was released, the usual suspects were waiting with previews and images. That camera was ready.
I believe, like many on this board, that Canon rushed the release to try to put a damper on the D3s sales. I don’t know why. At this top end of the camera food chain, it’s more a matter of selling upgrades to existing users, not getting new users or switchers. Most of the pro’s who will buy either camera have already committed to Nikon or Canon through the years. They are not going to switch.
