Various Reports
I have reports from Bern, Switzerland and Oslo, Norway that Mark IV's are being sold to consumers.

I'd like to see an unboxing and/or some high ISO files.

  1. Greg, definitely looking fwd to a comparison.

I am predicting the D3s is 1-2 stops better than 1d mk iv. Also asides from the noise would like to hear how the AF compares. I’m pretty sure the D3s is a far better camera overall, but since you’re lucky enough to try both side by side I’ll be awaiting your findings for confirmation of it all.

  2. Our cameras were in the same batch, so I wanted to ask if your centre focus point was slightly off centre? I have to admit I was a little bit annoyed when I saw that mine was. What happened to the 1 series having legendary build quality?

Do Nikon websites attract the same amount of trolls or is this a one-sided blessing ? The last time I argued in such manner was over Mercedes vs. BMW. I was 12. “Far better camera” I guess this is what obnoxious camera store employees do in their spare time :-P

Anybody seen this video ? http://web.canon.jp/imaging/eosd/samples/eos1dm4/player_bluemoon/movie.html?high Quite stunning ! 1080p video *drool* I check my Oct. 19th Amazon pre-order 10 times a day, alas no luck. I guess the US is not at the top of the distribution list as far as retail is concerned.

I sold my 5D and Leica for good money, itching to add the IV to my (blue dot) 1D Mark III and 1Ds Mark III. If someone wants to give me a Nikon D3s I’d be happy to take it :D Given the necessary choice, I pick 1080p (which is, you know, FAR better than 720p heh) over possibly better Nikon IQ at 25600 ISO – my Canon prime lenses have 1.2 (85mm II L), 1.4 (35mm L) and 2 (200 IS L)aperture. If I were to need 25600 it’d be so dark as to be hazardous to run around ;-)
