  1. Are you sure? The newest firmware for the 5D Mk II is dated January ’09, yet I’ve seen posts (and pics) in the ISO 100-200 range with the latest firmware that still clearly exhibit banding.

I really thought we’d see a 5D Mk II firmware update this week. Unless, however, Canon is waiting a couple days to let the current firmware releases drift off the front page and then make some real news on the 5D Mk II front with manual video control.

  2. Would be my definition of “good service”… it shouldn’t be that difficult to copy some source code of the 450D’s firmware to the 400D’s… but… yeah, sure – Canon has to sell new Rebels, I forgot…

  3. I’m a newbie 1000D user and don’t have experience with Canon DSLRs but is it a common practice to skip firmware versions? My 1000D has 1.0.3, the latest is 1.0.5 but I cannont find 1.0.4.

  4. Hi – really great website you have created. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically sweet. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a merchandising firm. I have always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and am trying to learn computer code in my free time (which there is never enough of lol).
