Estimated release date for 5D mII body only on the Vistek site: 12/08/2008… even if it’s a special order.

I’m from Redmond, WA. I Actually got the one with kit lens. The guy at the store told me that a lot of people pre-ordered the body only package. So it’s more likely to get your 5DII sooner if you order the kit lens package. 24-105 f/4 isn’t half bad. I figured I’ll just get the kit lens package if that’s what it takes to get my 5DII before Xmas.

Yeah I already have a 24-70 f2.8, so I have been trying to avoid buying the kit lens. I just might have to though if i want the lens. Thanks for the heads up.
You guys aren’t worried about the firmware, apparently. I’m waiting until several of you rave about the autofocus and the processing before I jump.
Then, if you’re all NOT happy I can wait until Canon fixes it, like they still haven’t done for the 1DsMkIII.
I pre-ordered WAY back and still nothing. Henry’s tells me they’ve already sent out one shipment, but apparently I wasn’t in that one – even though I was told I was #17 when I ordered and would get one FOR SURE in the first ship. So disappointing. Crossing my fingers that it will be any day now…
