Firmware Changes
Firmware Update Version 1.0.7 improves and mitigates the following two types of image quality phenomena that occur under certain shooting conditions.

1. “Black dot” phenomenon (the right side of point light sources become black)
2. Vertical banding noise

Firmware Version 1.0.7 is for EOS 5D Mark II cameras with firmware up to version 1.0.6. If the camera's firmware is already version 1.0.7, it is not necessary to update the firmware.

Notes:
When updating to Firmware Version 1.0.7, please also update the Digital Photo Professional and Picture Style Editor software. Firmware Version 1.0.7 can be downloaded from the bottom of this page. 1. @Don Komarechka

Understood – sorry. Thought you said you were holding off upgrading to a 5d mkii cuz of it :)

  2. After I updated to 1.0.7, some problems occurred. Sometimes I push to preview button or menu button nothing happens. After restart camera it seems normal but this problem occurred several times.

  3. Elloras– I’m still on 1.06 and I’ve had this problem occur 2-3 times since I bought it.

  4. Dorkage- Did you talk anybody from Canon. In my country nobody knows about this problem. This problem not only include menu button, also include picture style and preview button. So left side buttons. When the firmware 1.0.6 had not a problem. Interesting and too bad. May be it is a mechanically problem. Because when I shake the camera menu and the other buttons are not working properly. If anybody knows something about this problem please reply me. Thanks..
