5d mark ii1 - 5D Mark II Firmware
Firmware Coming?

I've been told we may not be getting a firmware update this month like reported a little while ago. It is claimed Canon is working on one, it's just not coming in the immediate future.

It's still guesswork as to whether or not the movie mode will get some manual love. I'm getting conflicting stories.

I'm waiting to hear from someone in particular that will give me a better idea.

  1. surprise no one is trying to reverse engineer the firmware and hack to better specs.
i am sure it is hard. but i am sure someone can do it…

  2. Let’s put it that way, I need Manual Control for my work. The reason I put this amount of money into a still camera is the video mode. If Canon does not offer any solution within 6 months I will get rid of my 5 L glasses and two bodies and switch to another brand.

  3. They still need to fix the low ISO banding that is still there even after the last firmware update, let alone the video controls. I was hoping that the 5d2 wouldn’t be another disaster like the 1d Mark III but I was wrong. The 5d2 is a great concept, but poor quality control and pre-release testing will make this another black mark on Canon’s line of cameras. Lucky me I have both a 1d3 AND a 5d2.
