Reports are circulating that someone at Canon UK let it be known a new 70-200 f/2.8L IS II should be expected for September.

Canon UK is having a show on October 27th and 28th to showoff all the new stuff.

  1. Wow…. I really don’t think it’ll be F2…. though it’d be super awesome… (and maybe super heavy)…

  2. The Very good news would be a 12-24L F=2.8 and then a 24-70 L IS. The 16-35L II is not so great at 16-18 mm nor near 35mm, but the optimum would be a new 18 or 20 L-serie fixed focus f=2,8

  3. I hope the price of the 70-200mm f/2.8 IS USM L will drop by… 300-500 dollars

Or if not, at least decrease the price of the non-IS! It’s been active for…. a decade!

  4. Are these purely fanboy rumors? i.e. a 10-400mm f1.4 is is on the way too!

Or is there some actual substance to this?
