  1. What happened to lightroom 3. I know they had the beta version, but then I didn’t hear anything else. Did they scrap it and go back to version 2.x?

  2. Annoying Mark II TEAM on

LOL just because LR3 is coming out, doesn’t mean they won’t update the CURRENT version.

  3. What happened to rumours?! on

I thought this was “Canon rumours”?

What is all this news about stuff that isn’t a rumour about Canon stuff doing here?

Are you just desperate for content to keep people coming back?

Please give us a link on the right that just displays rumours and excludes all the “news” about Adobe, Canon, etc. If I want that crap, I’ll go elsewhere.

    Rumours, baby, rumours!

Until this gets sorted out, I think I’ll go back to the northlight site – at least they cross link to here when there are decent rumours and don’t fill their rumours page with “general news.”

  4. I for one appreciate the news. And I appreciate Adobe for releasing updates to cover new cameras.

I believe it was Apple Aperture that not too long ago forced its users into upgrade to cover new cameras – even cameras released well before the new version of Aperture came out. Not good.

  5. Annoying Mark II TEAM on

I agree. DPR have the news. Northern Lights have the rumours (the better ones).

Then again, this site has both, so maybe it ultimately saves time.

    LOL

  6. Any news on RAW converter for CS3 which converts MK4 files and also some sort of update to be able to view MK4 files in preview on a mac with leopard???

  7. Hi,
I’m a business owner that does all my ownmarketing material and website design. I use the 7d and would live to get the 7d package giveaway…pick me!

  8. This is important to some users here that have a 550D so whats the big deal, I think its important

  9. Hello Sheriff. It’s 2010. Stop running CS3. If you had the $$ to get a MK4, spring for the upgrade to CS5.

  10. Adobe do deliberately cripple RAW updates so they don’t run on older versions of software though, so you’re still forced to upgrade.

  11. I can see how this would work from a business perspective, but I doubt this’ll happen somehow.

Plenty of people still use CS2 – I can’t imagine their cameras are necessarily that old too.

If they drop their products completely it would reflect negatively on Adobe – and while Photoshop is the standard that’s generally applied, its not the only programme “out there”.

  12. As soon as CS3 was released, the updates stopped for CS2. As soon as CS4 was released, updated stopped for CS3. This is the trend that has proven effective for them in the past.

That’s not to say you’re out of luck, as Adobe’s DNG Converter is always up to date and completely free – you can process converted DNG files from a 1D Mark IV in Camera Raw CS2 if you want – it just take a lot of convenience away from the process.

  13. Hi MIke, the CS3 converter is not for me. I have CS4 but the magazine i work for has CS3… not my problem but trying to help them out and not go the long way round and use the DNG converter which is what they doing now. We think magazines have the latest computers and software but its not the case. So much red tape and people to got through to get something it takes forever… But i do have a problem with leopard (MAC) not allowing me view my RAWs. Any suggestions besides using bridge?

  14. I think in Windows Bridge uses Adobe’s interpretation of the RAW files – Windows Explorer uses the Canon RAW Codec.

I would assume that a Mac is similar here:
    Adobe Interpretation in Bridge.
    Canon Codec Required otherwise.

  15. I like this site, and habe said many nice things about it in the past, but the absence of rumors is alarming and exceedingly boring. I guess it’s the nature of the beast, but what a snooze fest for the last few months!
