Confirmed
I've received confirmation that a new Canon body is being tested in Vancouver. Things are so tight lipped that this great source hasn't seen the model number.

It's suggested this is final testing before an announcement.

The same source has said we will see a 1Ds Mark IV before the end of February.

So if anyone attending the Olympics sees anything attached to a big white lens that looks suspicious, send me a picture of it.

  1. I dont think more MP is an issue… nikon’s move to stay with 12 mp is great but it does not offer flexibility to crop.

On this account, I do think that canon should make a better product differentiation.

this I say as there is no choice for us who wanted the best image quality (ie full frame) and has the features that present in the 1series body like the pro auto focus, sealing or the framerates. Hopefully the 5DIII will answer all our doubts like the 5DII did before (which works fine except AF in low light lol)

  2. You would sell your IV after having it for a month, knowing the s-model IV would come within 6 months or so? Nice. Wish I had that money :)

  3. The 1Ds line has always been a studio and landscape camera – of course they are going to increase the MPs. People at that level don’t really care about high ISO performance – remember this camera is going to compete with medium format backs with 40+ MPs.
