DPR Compares Waterproof Cameras
As I have found out using the D10, it is the best underwater P&S on the market. The image quality is very good. I knew it would be just by looking at the camera. The lens is the most impressive of all underwater P&S's today.

From DPReview
“If you have even glanced at the rest of this review, then the winner should come as no surprise to you at all. The D10 produced the sharpest, most detailed images of all the cameras in this group test at low ISO settings, both in and out of the water. This, combined with responsive performance and a straightforward user interface that has been proven on other cameras in the PowerShot series, means that if you were shopping for a waterproof camera mainly to use in the water, then you can stop reading right now and go order the D10.”

  1. I kept waiting for reviews but when they never came I went out and bought the D10. I’ve been very impressed with it. It’s image quality doesn’t compare to my 40D or 5D but it’s a lot of fun to shoot with. It is bulky but it travels well in the side pocket of cargo pants/shorts.

  2. Yeah but does it have manual control of video, or 25p for the PAL people, or a direct print button? hehe

  3. The only downside with the D10 is its bad ergonomics. Its too bulky and the grip is just bad.

For example, it would have been a great childrens’ camera if it wasn’t so hard to grip for little hands. The Lumix FT1 or even the Fujifilm Z33WP is way better for kids in this regard. The Optio W60 shutter button is not distinct enough for small fingers either.
