2. It is tempting. It's still a great still camera. Though a used mark iii can be had for less than $4,000. For way better video, a couple of years of use and an extra $1,000 is probably worth the tradeoff.

3. Just bought a used 1DX MKII from a dealer here in Germany below 1.400EUR incl. VAT and 1 year of warranty. Shutter count only 38k. Perfect value for money for my actual use case as a sturdy remote camera. Simply an ikone in the camera market. Even in 2023.

4. Last years I got offered a 1D X Mark II in a very good condition for 1500 Euros. It has just been used for bird photography for a few years and the owner had upgraded to mirrorless. It was tempting, but then I was unsure if a camera from 2017 would still be worth that much.

   It is worth whatever you are willing to spend for it.
