So the fun with Canon dates continues.

A Canon EOS R1 customer has received a shipping update for the Canon EOS R1 from B&H Photo. It looks like the USA will get a small allocation of the EOS R1 first, and it will begin shipping on November 14, 2024.

For what it's worth, the person that received the notice of the November 14 ship date was #2 on our preorder list.

I have confirmed this information with a couple of other USA retailers, but they don't expect to see anywhere near the allocation needed to meet preorder demand on the first go. They have been told that a small number are coming in the middle of the month and that the second allocation will be at the end of November or early December.

European retailers are a bit more vague on the exact ship date, as it seems the date is under NDA for whatever reason, but their first allocations should be at about the same time. Again, not a high number of cameras will make their way to retailers at that time.

Canon has said that they are manufacturing 3700 EOS R1 camera bodies per month, and a lot of those will be going to agency and Explorers of Light customers before retailers.

No matter at this point, we don't have long to wait.

No argument, Brexit made that point very clear!
I have heard many problems/pricing etc post-Brexit. Has there also been significant advantages now that the dust has settled?

Can't speak for anyone else, but in my everyday life I see no advantages and travel to the rest of Europe has become significantly more of a pain. YMMV of course.

Polls indicate that is now the majority view. It has hit universities particularly badly and some other sectors too as well as being generally pernicious. However, there is still sufficient minority support that our present government is reluctant to revive the issue.
