According to BCN, which aggregates a significant amount of Japan sales statistics, Canon jumped ahead of the competition and claimed the top 3 spots for August. Leading the way is the Canon EOS 10, closely followed by the Canon EOS R50.
Canon is not doomed (for today only, let's not get crazy).
Of course, this is just the sales statistics for Japan which is what BCN monitors, so your mileage may vary equating this to any other market – but for Canon and most other Japanese manufacturers, this is the market that they watch closely.
A few notables, the EOS R100 doesn't make an appearance in the top 10, and the Sony ZV-E10 series continues to do quite well. Neither the ZV-E10 nor the ZV-E10 II are cheap cameras (currently selling for $598 and $998) which shows that it's not price that necessarily makes these successful cameras for Sony. I hope Canon will dust off some old EOS-M plans and make a comparable camera.

It is still cheaper than the R50 at ¥96,388 vs ¥96,480
US prices are not very relevant.
What a great camera, I just wish they had omitted the EVF. You can't go from an R3 EVF to the R50's tiny thing.
Hope Canon will know what\'s problem about R7
I still think you need that Sigma!
(more rational explanation is that I want to play with it when you get here lol)
