big cash cow is the coming 24-70L IS, canon will be able to sell tons of it
That;s what I was thinking, especially as recent rebates have not included the 1D series to my recollection.
As I mentioned in another thread here, the (online) retail chain here in Switzerland is almost exhausted of the 1DIII.
Yup, this rebate is a bummer for anyone waiting on a good deal to buy a camera and lens. Not nearly as the instant rebate they put on when I purchased mine.
I guess it is difficult to cut their prices, but by not putting on a good offer on rebates like people expect, they really put the brakes on sales.
