  1. I hope they come out with a waterproof camera. I’m in the market for a high image quality, compact, waterproof camera, with a nice move mode (preferably HD). So far I haven’t found any cameras that I’m willing to pay for in that market. A lot of them look good on paper, but the images are very disappointing.

  2. Many people buy the Olympus waterproof cameras when they go on vacation – the feature is a good selling point for these folks even if they never end up using it. Canon could sell quite a lot of these.

  3. this camera would not exactly be ‘ground-breaking’. Olympus have been producing a camera like this for a while now.

  4. I have no use for this. The best underwater camera for a reasonable price is the G9 and when the UW case is out it will be the G10 (wider lens). All my diving friends and UW photographers I know use the G9. 10m is nothing, the UE case of the G9 and IS1100 goes down to 40m.

  5. 10m is everything, if your UW case suddenly fills with water!
This happend to my Canon S80, may it rest in peace…
