It sounds like Sigma is getting ready to release an update to this lens. I wonder how many here will complain it is an "unimpressive" or "marginal" update?
Or maybe they've gotten wind of what Canon is putting into all their "unimpressive" and "marginal" "cosmetic" lens updates to make them work at full capability of an impending new body release and Sigma wants to unload as much inventory now before their lens is rendered "second tier" due to some hardware limitation (just as the recently replaced Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II or EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS wil be).
