The RF mount “Holy Trinity” should be ready to ship before the end of July 2019 [CR2]

I'm sure these lenses will all be stellar. I was thinking "How much?", and my very rough guess is about £2500+ per lens. The upcoming "Pro"-level R-series camera will probably be at least £4500. So for that camera and the 3 lenses, we're talking around £12000. Very nice kit, but out of my...

    Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L USM coming May 9, 2019

This could be really good. It could give gimmicky bokeh effects like hearts and stars, but also more serious effects like gaussian, lorentzian, sinc, or uniform, hard-edged disc bokeh balls. I can't see this being available for a long time, or probably never. Nice idea, though.

Here are the full Canon EOS R specifications

Well, yes, but the new Endochronic Focusing feature will only operate if you keep topping up the camera's RTT cavity (accessed by screw cap) topped up with Resublimated ThioTimoline crystals.

Here are the first images and specifications of the Canon EOS R and the new RF mount lenses

Wow! I'm really surprised! I like the magnesium body; my M5 feels plasticky, nowhere near as good as my much-more-expensive 5D3. So this looks great. And the lenses! They look great, too! And an RF 50/1.2 L?! And a smaller RF 24-105/4 L, too? And a 28-70/2? I'm amazed! If the RF lenses are...

Time to replace "Mirrorless"?! (camera description term / wording)

    When backronym-creation gets desperate: photon energy E = h.v ; v=Greek letter "nu", i.e. frequency

Two New Lenses Coming From Canon Next Week [CR3]

I think you have misread that new CR1 announcement. The lenses are coming, but MORE "professional" lenses may be coming later in 2018, with CR1 confidence at this stage.

More Full Frame Mirrorless Talk, Maybe Some Surprises? [CR1]

Maybe the lens won't be interchangeable? But a 5D4 form factor would seem very large for a fixed-lens camera.

    I'm making a 4:4:4/4:2:2 16/14/12/10-bit codec for Canon DSLR's

Harry, On 29th April, you said: Well it's now over a week later than you indicated, and we're still waiting. So...? Have you got anything, or not? (I think we know the answer.)

Canon Sends Invitation to Dealers for Major Mirrorless Presentation Next Month

Rubbish. There is nothing about the subjunctive that suggests impossibility. If you were to go to a book shop tomorrow, you could buy a book on grammar. And "if one was" just grates.

We May Be Waiting a Little While Longer for a New 50mm Lens [CR2]

"Pornography" is their best album, IMO. It's the only Cure album I still actually listen to.

    Goodbye to My Canon M5

Shame. I like my M5. BTW, what were you using to charge the M5's batteries? Full-stops?* ;D You might find electricity gives better results! -- * periods

Nijkon FF mirrorless - goodbye F-mount!

Back in the days of film and low-ISO digital cameras, big, wide, light-bucket lenses were desirable, even if they were optically-flawed compared to modern lenses. These days, high-ISO performance has overtaken the ability to design high-performing f/1.0 lenses, so f/1.4+ will do, and give...

More Announcements from Canon Coming in September

Why? That lens is stellar, and unbelievably sharp. Very light, too.

Canon High End Mirrorless Camera Talk [CR2]

Like EF-S, but with a full-frame image circle? Sounds very tricky to me, and you'd get the issue with the vignetting at the corners, because of the far-from-normal angle of incidence of light onto the sensor.

Canon EOS 6D Mark II Dynamic Range Talk & Sample Images

Re: Canon EOS 6D Mark II Dynamic Range Talk & Sample Images I'm not sure why people are weighing up the pros and cons of buying a second-hand 5D3 versus a new 6D2, because here in the UK at least, Jessops are currently selling both for EXACTLY THE SAME PRICE, £1999. If, and it's perhaps a big...
