KUVRD launches the world’s first Universal Lens Hood, and it’s pretty cool.

Sure, but if(when) I fail to collapse it enough, I have lens hood in the shot.

KUVRD launches the world’s first Universal Lens Hood, and it’s pretty cool.

Lens hoods must Be sized for the FOV of the lens. This invites screw ups where the hood appears in the shot.

2019 global camera market share numbers are out, Canon leads the way

A camera store? Where are there any camera stores anymore? None in Pittsburgh, not really; we have to drive to Ohio. Internet has taken its toll.

Industry News: Olympus to sell imaging business by the end of the year

Nikon already ceded much of its sensor development to Sony. That was the point they gave up and started to die.

Industry News: Olympus to sell imaging business by the end of the year

Pentax will die. I would not be surprised to see Nikon fold.

Here is the Canon EOS Rebel 850D/T8i

Am I misreading the comments, or are people saying this could be a full frame body?

All I want is Lightroom. Wish that was still a purchase product.

Patent: Canon is working on shrinking the size of mirrorless cameras

Bah. I remember the time right before smart phones, when the trend was towards tinier and tinier phones. But they got too small to use comfortably. Remember Derek Zoolander’s absurdly tiny phone? Then things swung back into bigger phones for the bigger and bigger working screens. Cameras...

What lenses are coming next for the Canon RF mount?

I think they need a lot of non-L lenses. If most or all the RF lenses were expensive L versions, that’d block off the normal way new photographers gradually get invested into a new system (low priced entry level lenses). And if you expect them to buy the adaptor, plus the lenses, 1.) it adds...

New Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG HSM OS Sport Finally Coming Ahead of Photokina

I'd be more concerned buying into the Nikon system. A.) So how much more advanced is Nikon's high end ILC mirrorless camera lineup, exactly? How would Nikon make you safer than Canon in your scenario above? B.). Nikon has largely given up developing its own high end sensors, and has...

    A Shake-up Coming to the APS-C DSLR Lineup? [CR2]

Maybe they're just going to do a major re-naming of the cameras. They are getting close to having to do that. 90d will be the end of that line's naming convention. T9i will end another naming convention at the model after next. Not at all sure where they think they are going to go, name-wise...

    A Shake-up Coming to the APS-C DSLR Lineup? [CR2]

What I'd think someone should be interested in would be a low-light performer. We've seen every other specialization get a model. We've seen high megapixel specialist models. We've seen high frame rate models. We've seen rugged models. We've seen small form factor models. We've seen cheap...

    A New EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III Still a Possibility in 2018? [CR1]

Hard to believe they would upgrade a lens as much-loved as this one before upgrading their much less universally satisfying 50mm offerings.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.4L IS USM

Nice shots everyone. Does it seem this lens shoots with a little bit of a cool quality? Maybe I am used to my Sigma 35 which shoots a little warm.

    A New EF 70-200mm is Coming in 2018 [CR3]

The “something more” will be more money. The price of the current model has dropped and they’ll be able to charge a thousand bucks more for the new one.

Canon Continues To Research Putting IS into Tilt-Shift Lenses

Now it is clear Canon is messing with ahsanford. No new 50mm with IS but slews of new TS lenses, and now new TS lenses with IS.

Anyone kept their 6d since upgrading to a 5d4?

I too got a 5d4 during Black Friday. (Anybody want a printer and a battery grip?) and my old camera is a 6d. I am keeping both. I just got a Cotton Carrier harness vest for two cameras. I have planned for some time to do this. Now I can keep the telephoto on the 5d4 and the wide/wider angle...

Announcing the Results of our 2017 Best of From Canon Poll

Does the current EF 50mmf/1.4 have the sharpness needed for higher MP counter see with every new body? Isn't there any pressure to release an update for that reason? It looks like mush on a 5DS R ,especially wide open, on TDP.

Shooting people with a 16-35... Any good ?

Do yourself a favor and watch a lot of videos on composition using wide angle lenses. When I got my 16-35 i was debating between it and a 24-70. On the way home from the camera shop I stopped at the zoo and all my shots looked terrible, with nothing large enough to be interesting or even...
