Will Lightroom 6 write CRAW for new 6d2?

Anyone know? I'd hate to be foreced onto the Adobe Cloud subscription service for buying a 6D2. And I am not prepared to use a work-around.

Put a phone in the 1dx3

All the talk of phone cameras eating into the camera market; lets strike back and put a phone into the 1dx3. Big body with tons of spare room for the minimal electronics required. Ergonomically somewhat larger than ideal but the image quality would destroy the competition. I offer this...

Does new Tamron 70-200 2.8 look sharper than Canon's on TDP?

Just looked at Bryan's new image quality results. Looks to me like wide open at 70 and 135 Tammy beats the Canon at the edges and beats or ties Canon everywhere else at. Canon seems to pull ahead in the center at 200 but is still softer in the edges. Is it just me?

Lack of red lighted AF points 5d4; big deal?

One detail/gripe I heard mentioned about 5d3 (and 1dx) was the individual AF points don't light up red so it can be tricky to place a particular point over a subject or an eye, etc, in dim light. I see they addressed that in the 1dx2 but not in the 5d4. Who has had 5d3 or 5d4 cameras and...

D.O.F.; does equal framing cancel out focal length differences?

Thinking a lot about DOF as I am getting into macro. I know DOF gets shallower as you get closer to the subject, and also as you increase the focal length of the lens. Conversely DOF gets deeper as you go to a shorter/wider focal length and also deepens as you increase distance to subject...

Any idea what happened over at Sigma Rumors?

6d and Phottix Mitros + shooting some overexposed

I sometimes get overexposed shots using the Phottix flash. It could be the metering on the camera or it could be something in the flash. The flash exposure compensation in the camera and in the flash don't always seem to do much. Any idea what might be going on? Also almost all the metering...

How to update Phottix Mitros+ ???

I downloaded the 1.07 update from Phottix. I hooked the flash to the computer with a Micro USB. I just can't get anything to happen. If I drag and drop it says the file is much too large. There is almost nothing showing as being in the flash. One nonsense file and one file about volume...

TDP posts full image compare for Sigma 20mm ART. Better than new Canon 24mm?

The 20 surprisingly whips the 24mm in vignetting wide open. http://www.the-digital-picture.com/News/News-Post.aspx?News=17262 It also seems sharper in center and middle and seemingly has less CA. (edited to properly insert the hyperlink)

Canon to buy Sigma? (Per Sigma Rumors site)

    Probably nonsense, but: http://sigma-rumors.com/2015/09/canon-to-acquire-sigma/

Extension tubes + macro lenses; how to measure?

Hi, I see extension tubes at different lengths (12mm, 20mm, 25mm, etc.) but how does that work in terms of the macro power as is normally expressed in 1:1 true macro. The Canon MPE-65 gives up to 1:5 enlargement. How do I add up the extra magnification from extension tubes in those terms...

Built in SD card reader stopped working on HP computer

Hi, My built-in card reader has stopped working. I have tried it with three different SD cards so I know it is not a bad card.when I put the card in the computer does not even see the SD card reader as a drive when I am looking in My Computer like it used to. The only thing I can think of...

Need something to secure zippers on ThinkTank Turnstyle sling bag

Hi, I am used to having a backpack with the entry on the backside for security, but I just got the referenced sling bag and the zippers are exposed to the public back there as I walk around. This is NOT a criticism of this bag, which I am really liking, but rather just something that is equally...

Mode dial plaque fell off 6d. Should I glue it back on?

Hi, The little metal cap with the settings (TV, Av, M, etc) printed on it fell off the top of my mode selector dial. It still works ok. I can even live without it if need be since you can tell what mode it is in from the LCD though it is awkward. It has tiny drops of glue residue on it so...

Did 85L NEED to have slow focus, or just a fluke thing they were trying?

Everyone talks about the focus by wire system on the 85L being slow, but this is accepted as ok by people who use it for portraits, not action. I have never heard an explanation of why they gave it that focus system rather than a more common one. Was it just something Canon was trying out...

    Upcoming Sigma "trifocal" lens?

Sigma is hinting at upcoming "unique" lens, risky and odd like their 18-35 f/1.8. Sigma Rumors is thinking it may be a trifocal lens. http://sigma-rumors.com/2015/03/sigma-upcoming-very-unique-lens-thoughts/ I guess the idea is it could be optically simpler and would not have to be good at...

Any way 5d3 goes UP when 5d4 announced?

Looking at the great prices on 5d3 right now ($1950.00) and tempted but not knowing what the 5d4 specs will be I hate to pull the trigger. I have seen claims that old lenses occasionally go up when a Mk 2 comes out, though I have not actually seen it happen myself. Any chance of that with a...

Who shows up with a Sony + adaptor to sneak test a new Sigma prime???

http://sigma-rumors.com/2015/02/sigma-24mm-f1-4-art-sample-images-canon-6d/ That makes no sense. The samples are meaningless as a result. :(
