Industry News: Nikon officially announces the Nikon Z fc

Nope. All of those cameras are cheaper with their included lens. This new camera is NOT for the casual shooter/newbie, even if Nikon wishes to convince us of so. Too expensive and too complex. It's a toy for Nikon fans who already have a decent kit and want to live the (quite enjoyable) Fuji...

Industry News: Nikon officially announces the Nikon Z fc

As many have said, the iPhone market has already gobbled up that casual niche. This camera is a toy for Nikon fans that simply will not move tu Fuji. Problem is Fuji has a 10 year advantage on creating very good APS-C glass for MILC. Nikon? Yeah no. We have a grand total of TWO native DX lenses...

The sensor in the upcoming Canon EOS R3 is designed and manufactured by Canon

An anonymus comment on a forum of a video-centric site that has EOS in its name but actually thinks very little of Canon cameras.

After the EOS R3, Canon will introduce new “affordable” RF mount cameras [CR1]

Yep. All the more reason to cut them from the balance sheet. They are not a long term proposition. Practically every other camera maker, save for Canon, has already taken that step.

After the EOS R3, Canon will introduce new “affordable” RF mount cameras [CR1]

They corrected their hemorrage with a solid MILC strategy and are posting small but consistent growth. That's a good example for any company to follow.

After the EOS R3, Canon will introduce new “affordable” RF mount cameras [CR1]

Sounds good. But prices on RF lenses are still way up for the average APC-C buyers.

After the EOS R3, Canon will introduce new “affordable” RF mount cameras [CR1]

Seems like Canon is pulling a Nikon and directing their potential APS-C buyers to the bigboy RF mount. Worked for Nikon. Canon "M" users can't be feeling good about this, but is was sadly expected. No camera company can sustain four different mounts at the same time: EF, EF-S, M and RF. They...

    Canon Mark5dIV vs Iphone X

Your iPhone is less stable than your DSLR, specially when attaching external devices. If you value your narrative maybe that's important.

Canon officially discontinues a lot more EF lenses

Oh I remember well, my friend. But I didn't cite that example because it was not relevant to this situation: we have some degree of compatibility between EF and RF systems but it's not ideal. Otherwise, Canon wouldn't be forcing this change. There's some overlap between this two systems and...

Canon officially discontinues a lot more EF lenses

Absolutely. But there's a difference. Canon EF lenses are fully compatible with both DSLRs and their older 35mm EOS film systems, something you can't replicate with their new RF system unless you use an adapter (I prefer not to). That's a big leap for millions of camera owners that have...

Here is the Canon Cinema EOS C70

I'm sure this will be a good product by Canon. But at this price the C200 seems more attractive, mainly for the ultra chunky RAW codec. Not sure who the C70 is for. At $5500 it's clearly not for the average V-Logger or amateur. Those RF lenses can be expensive and the C70 seems designed to take...

    Upgrade from 7d

Other than DPAF for video in the 70D could you cite some examples? Genuine interest. Not trolling.

    Upgrade from 7d

I'm sure there are some "gently used" 1Ds around there. Maybe not the latest and greatest but certainly competitive. It should also be noted that Canon generally goes full hog in their 1D lineup and then "trickles down" these technologies to lesser models. So buying a slightly older used 1D may...

    Upgrade from 7d

7DM2 would be the logical choice. 5D series is a completely different beast. It's not specialized in the areas the 7D series is, mainly, rapid-fire shooting and focus acquisition. EosR will necessitate a new lens lineup if you want the absolutely best performance. Looks like you're a prime 1D...

Patent: Canon RF mount modular CINE camera appears in drawings

Yep, a hypothetical "C-RF-X00" would include ND filtration, a feature in almost every Canon videocamera already. An intriguing model, for sure.

Had to happen sooner or later.

Why has Canon omitted 24p 4K recording in their new cameras such as the EOS M6 Mark II, EOS 90D and EOS RP?

Guys, it ain't that complicated: Canon is forcing anyone that wants to record good 4K 24p with DPAF to go upstream. That would include a few DSLRs/MILCs and the expensive C-Line videocameras. There's some $$$ to be had with that sub target of consumers. That's about it.
