    New EOS-1 Camera Information [CR1]

Why is it that I'm getting this feeling Canon went out of its way to integrate the Eos 1D and 1Ds series into the 1 DX, and now everything is going back to the D and Ds format again?

New 100-400 to Launch with EOS 7D Mark II [CR2]

Wow.... finally something solid this time (or so I hope). I still remember the speculation going around this forum about which was to be renewed first - the 100-400mm or the 70-200 f/2.8L IS. That was before the announcement of the 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II. Thank god I waited - that took a lot of...

    EF 70-200 f/2.8 L IS II + EF 1.4x TC III or EF 300mm f/2.8 L IS II?

If cash and size is no concern, I seriously do not see any reason not to get the 300 f/2.8. The sharpness and speed of prime beats its zoom counterpart hands down (though I don't know about version II, but version I is definitely superb). As for the 600, I don't know if you need to go that...

Any chance for a 18-250 or 18-300 lens from Canon in the foreseeable future?

Seriously, I really am having doubts about Canon's commitment to EF-S lenses. With the exception of occasional upgraded of existing kit lens, the EF-S seems pretty dead for the past year or two. While Tamron, Tokina, and Sigma have been coming out with their versions of 18-xxx zooms, Canon's...

    Canon's Roadmap for 2013 [CR2]

    Let's see... 100-400 f/4-5.6L IS II, 14-24 f/2.8L, and TSE-90 f/2.8L, and TSE-45 f/2.8L. That's four, right? :P

Any news on the 7dMk2 now that CES is done

Here's an interview with a Canon official: http://dc.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/interview/20130124_584693.html In the last part, the question on the 7D successor was raised. The official noted that the next generation camera is "not that far in the future" and is not only a spec-enhanced...

Patent: A New Canon EF 50 f/1.2 & Suggestion of a Full Frame Mirrorless?

I think FF mirrorless is probably on every camera company's agenda, but I doubt the technology/production cost is feasible at this point. It took two years to see Sony send in the RX-1 after the X100 (from APS-C fixed compact to FF compact). I doubt many people is willing to stomach a...

    Moving to 6D from 5DII

Just had a chance to play with the 6D earlier today at the local Canon service center. After comparing with the 5D3 on the same shelf, the 6D definitely is a bit smaller overall (especially the grip part is slightly bit thinner than the 5D3). However, there's one thing that really turned me...

    Canon EF 14-24 f/2.8L in Late 2013 [CR2]

Well, if it does emerge in the second half of 2013, that means most people have to wait till early 2014 for consistent supply, quirks with the first batch fixed, and the price stabilized... business as usual. *shrug*

Waiting for 100~400mm f/4~5.6 IS II.

Simply waiting for a newer version of the 100-400 which is weatherproof. If only the old version had weatherproof mechanism....

    EF 24-70 f/4L IS & EF 35 f/2 IS

Re: EF 24-70 f/4L IS & EF 35 f/2 IS We won't have a choice by the time they discontinue the 24-105 and replace it with a much more expensive version of the lens... either take the new lens or stomach the 24-70 f/4L.

G15 or G1X for my mom???

Had a chance to play with both cameras at a local camera show last week. I must say that both works pretty well, but my female coworker did mention that the G15 fits her hands better than the G1X. But then, G1X has the better advantage in low light... Well, I think either should work fine.

    Canon EF 24-70 f/4L IS Coming [CR3]

The only logical argument I could think of is to use this lens to replace the 24-105 f4L as the kit lens for future FF cameras. By doing so, Canon will be able to introduce a possible 24-120 f4L which it can categorize as a non-kit lens, giving it perfect excuse to jack up the starting...

    5D2 & 1D4 for 1DX?

Having the latest technology is great. But is there anything wrong with the 5D2 and 1D4? If not, might as well save up the money and wait for the next generation of bodies. The ones you have still hold their ground at this point in time.

    Big Megapixel Talk [CR2]

Seems quite self-defeating that Canon goes all the way to merge the 1D/1Ds split into the 1DX, and now have another high resolution model, which effectively restarts the product lines. OK, let me take that back. Maybe they actually decided to adopt the Nikon approach - D1, D1H, D1X....

Canon EOS 3D at 46.1mp Next Month? [CR1]

Who knows? Maybe the two lenses to be announced with it might be specifically designed to maximize the performance of the 46.1 MP sensor. :P

    Which to get next: 35 f/1.4L or 16-35 f/2.8L...?

You probably want to cover the wide end first. The 16-35mm is a good choice when it comes to group picture at weddings. Also, the lens's versatility is useful for landscape shots.

    Update for the EF 24-105 f/4 L ?

I'd wager we see a new version of the 100-400mm before that (here's one lens from the last century). Of course, if they do upgrade the 24-105mm, Canon has to do something about the ERR01 problem...

    New Canon EOS-M
