Ok, I guess everywhere seems to be quoting dates close to this now, so no big secret.
I'm surprised nobody has noticed this yet, or maybe they have and everyone but me knows that it's not worth paying attention to. Amazon's preorder for the EOS R currently states "This item will be released on October 9, 2018." What does everyone make of this? Are they just pulling a date out of their ass? Everything I've heard is a vague "late October."
Also, something that's a little odd, I can't seem to find the EOS R on their site by searching within the site, only by googling it.

Edit: Something else to note... The release date that they quote changes if you choose a camera package that comes with a lens... Choosing the 50mm says it will not be released until October 25. Choosing the 35mm and the 28-70 say they will not be released until December 20. These dates seem oddly specific and very spread out to be something they just randomly came up with... I dunno.
