Personally, I prefer a bigger ballhead, but the aluminum tripod extends to 60" high, plus another 10" with the center column all the way up. With the included ballhead it is rated for 11 lbs. Probably a steady rig.

I returned one of those tripods, and I generally like Vanguard tripods.

I found that the legs had a little more flex than I would like, and the tripod didn't feel like it would last very long outdoors. The Manfrotto 190 go has ended up being my go to little tripod legs, for when I want a 100-400 size lens.

The vanguard tripods are all pretty good deals as midrange tripods and heads, though.
