Canada 2018

Hi,

It's been a while since i posted here, I stopped photography for 1 year because I go back to high school.

I just finished post processing photos from a trip in Canada in July/August 2018

The shots are really fantastic. I love the city and the cathedral look! I'm curious what kinds of edits you applied, if you would be ready share some of these.

For these 2 kinds of photos, I usually do (keep in mind there is not steps order because this really depend on the photo) :

Lightroom

General correction :


Color profil : faithful or neutral according to the photo

Lens CA and distortion correction and recrop if necessary. For distortion correction i always start with automatic correction Auto or Full if i don’t like the result i use guided + manuel settings ajustement.

Temperature and tint ajustement if necessary

Contrast : Always start at 30

Exposition ajustement if necessary, I never exceed + 2

High light correction : I try to not exceed -75 and if necessary i use local brush correction

Shadow correction : I try to not exceed + 50 and if necessary i use local brush correction

White correction if necesseray

Black correction if necesseray

Sharpness :

Sharpness amount : I never exceed +80

Sharpness radius : always 0.8

Sharpness Detail : 50

Shaprness Masking : always 20 minimum and more depend on the photo

Noise reduction :

Luminance : always 20 minimum and more, it depend of ISO i used. For cathedral shot, i set 30 because i shot at 6400 ISO.

Detail/contrast/color/detail/smoothness : 50

Glamour Glow
: Use it when i want add some mood

Glow : Really depend on the photo

Saturation : often 10

Glow warmth : Depends on the mood I want to give to the photo

Pro Contrast

Correct color cast : really depend on the photo

Correct contrast : never exceed 10

Dynamic contract : never exceed 30

Graduated neutral density

Uppper tonality : really depend on the photo

Lower tonality : really depend on the photo

Detail extractor

Detail extractor : 3

Contrast : 0

Saturation 0

Effect radius : low


Back in Lightroom

Add some contrast if necessary : often between 10 and 20

TSL luminance : really depend on the photo

TSL saturation : really depend on the photo


Export to Photoshop

In photoshop a use luminosity masks scripts

A script for precisely adjust color balance for low,mid,high luminance

A script for precisely adjust color vibrance for low,mid,high luminance

A script that add some subtle glow effect if necessary, i often set opacity at 80% max

A script for precisely adjust contrast for low,mid,high luminance

High-pass sharpen if necessary
