Canon 70-300L with Kenko 1.4x or 2.0x

Anyone using the Kenko Pro-300 extenders with the Canon 70-300L on a Canon 6D or EOS-M ?

Any issues ? Does AF work ? Any lockups or other problems ?

Thanks

Not sure, but on the 5D3, the only two extenders that allow the 70-300L to AF properly (and you do not need the f/8 firmware, thankfully, so you can still use ML software) are the Kenko MC4 DGX and Pro300 DGX. It must be either of those exact two Kenko versions, nothing else works. Even Canon's own TC even with the f/8 firmware don't AF with the 5D3+70-300L.

Those two extenders from Kenko, OTOH can crash out the 300 2.8 IS AF pretty hard (the lens won't AF again, even if the extender is removed, until the battery is taken out and the camera given a true hard reboot; I forget whether that happens with the kenko+300 2.8 alone or only wiht 300 2.8canon tc+kenko tc).

But it's so awesome that those two kenkos allow for excellent 70-300L AF on the 5D3. It's so stupid that Canon locks the lens out from proper AF when using their own TCs since the Kenko proves there should be NO problem whatsoever.
