Canon EOS-1D X Mark III pre-order bonuses and price: it depends on the country

I've noticed that Canon EOS-1D X Mark III pre-order body prices and bonuses depend on the country where the pre-order in placed.

While the price in Canada is higher, it offers ~610USD worth bonuses more than in the USA, which makes the cost of the bundle (body+bonuses) cheaper than in USA and in France, for instance:

USA:
Price: 6499 USD+tx
- 64GB CF Express Card (~150 USD)
- Card Reader

Canada:
Price: ~6933 USD+tx
- 512GB CF Express Card (~600 USD)
- Card Reader
- LP-E19 Battery (~160 USD)

France:
Price: ~6795 USD+tx
- 64GB CF Express Card (~150 USD)
- Card Reader
- Accessory pouch

It would be interesting to compare with other countries.

I wonder if Canada is giving an extra battery, or if they are pulling the battery out as separate.

It is a spare battery, as stated here https://www.canon.ca/en/Features/1dxmarkiii (prices are in CAD, valued at ~970USD in total, but real retail prices might differ):

"Preorders from Canon Authorized Dealers includes a free:
- 512GB CF Express Card ($899.99)
- Card Reader ($79.99)
- LP-E19 Battery (SRP $279.99)
(Valued at $1,259.97)

While Supplies Last. Limited Time Only. Lens Not Included."

BTW, in some countries, there is no bonus at all (Eastern Europe), but my point is that a free 512G card and a spare battery (Canada) are more useful than an accessory pouch (Western Europe), IMO. :)

Also, in the Schengen Area countries, the product is sold at very different prices, even despite sometimes important VAT tax difference: 8 099,00€ (24% tax incl.) in Finland; 7612€ (tax incl.) in UK; 7420€ (tax incl.) in Spain; 7300€ (tax incl.) in France and Germany ; 6850€ (8% tax incl.) in Switzerland. At this price point, it becomes important, knowing that the warranty and bonuses are exactly the same and there are no additional customs duties to pay...

So far, it seems that Canon Canada offers the best "price+bonuses" pre-order bundle.

FWIW, these various sorts of marketing campaigns, preorder bundles and so on are basically always the work of local or regional Canon subsidiaries.

I agree, but when the product is exactly the same, it is worth comparing the bundles and the prices, especially in Europe, where the distances are short and the plane tickets are cheap.
Example:
7.360€ in Austria ;
6.850€ in Switzerland;
124€ return(!) plane ticket Vienna-Zurich

In this particular case, it is still ~370€ (~413 USD) cheaper to fly to the nearby country and to buy the same bundle with the same warranties, and even to be served in the same (German) language.

In your case, it is 8.100€ in Finland vs 6.850€ + 155€ (Turku-Zürich plane ticket). ~1100€ cheaper...

Most of which, in Canon’s case, are owned by Canon Japan.
Yes, local pricing, bundles available, etc are set by the subsidary. The price is sometimes lower in certain regions which is why we have gray market businesses. They pay less for large quantities, then keep part of the price saving as their profit. Currency exchange rate and price must all be right for this to work. In the US, for example. its sometimes possible to save by purchasing in Canada. Then it is not considered gray market and you get a US warranty. The reverse can also be true, it depends on pricing and exchange rate.

Well there you go. Although in my defense I was referring to buying from an actual bricks and mortar retail shop as I am one of those people who still prefer to do that.

I'm getting a second 512gb card (rarely fill a 128gb card now:ROFLMAO:), second battery and my next CPS renewal covered for a few hundred more. The price of CFExpress cards is a killer at the moment.
