Canon G1 X image aspect ratios

The Canon website shows the following information in the specifications for the G1 X camera.....

Medium 2: 1200 x 1200, Small: 480 x 480

Large: 2608 x 3264, Medium 1: 1840 x 2304,

Would this indicate that in-camera cropping to these aspect ratios is available? If not, what would be the purpose of publishing such information?

In-camera cropping is almost certainly available. My S100 can do it...

I think that would be a nice feature to have. Wish I could do that with my 1D Mark IV. Very handy for landscape work or portraits.
