a few companies like Canon are pushing in that direction. it may make sense in "pro"-level video cams. for stills-centric and hybrid cameras i dont see it necessary. SD Express with up to 985 MB/s more than suffices. i hope it will win and become industry standard. ideally in MicroSD form factor. then we could have 4 card slots in even the smallest mirrorfree camera body. :)

Personally I do not like SD cards. Too small, feel flimsy (easy broken).

For high speed action, Cfast work great

lexar can be as fast as they want i would never buy them again.

i had 3 SD card failures since i can remember and all are lexar cards. i stopped buying them 5 years ago.

LMAO, and I've had three failures - all SanDisk. So it's a luck of the draw. I switched to Lexar about 8 years ago and haven't had any trouble at all.

These results are downright impressive for write speeds. I went ahead and bought a 2-pack of the ProGrade 64GB v90 cards from B&H today. I don't like that Lexar is no longer the same company...and the fact the people from Lexar started ProGrade makes me look toward them to carry the torch.

you must be very lucky then. ;)

you are right that anecdotal evidence cannot be a basis of overall brand reputation.

but from what i read in articles and forums, lexar cards seem to make more problems than other cards.

the nikon D500 issues lexar had.. etc. etc.

yes you can find the same reports for other brands too. but overall lexar seem to be worse, has more such reports.... or maybe just bias from my experience.
but add my own experience to that.... and i came to the conclusion to stay away from lexar cards.

the "support" from lexar seems to be no good either. i just throw my cards in the trash, i did not deal with them.

correct is that sandisk is the most counterfeit brand on the SD market.
but i check all my sandisk cards and never had an issue. something i can´t say about my original lexar cards.
i register all my sandisk cards and i hope when a card breaks i get a replacement without a problem.

SanDisk was very good to deal with when I had my failures. I got new cards each time and the recovery software helped me with one of them. But the reason you see so many cases with Lexar and SanDisk is simply because they are (were) the two largest flash memory and memory card manufacturers. I am moving to ProGrade now, as it's a company formed by the former executives at Lexar and some former employees of SanDisk. I feel like these people may have the secret sauce with less corporate overhead than before. They're newest offerings are already some of the fastest cards out there and at a good price too.

Dice have officially been rolled. LOL
