I am new to Mode 3 IS. I am a beginner birder and wonder about using Mode 3 with and without the 1.4 Ext and occasionally on a monopod. The lens has the auto sense to turn off when not needed yet a monopods movements on a tilt head can be nothing like the stability of a tripod for which the auto off was designed.
So this is a 2 part question I guess. Best Mode for IS for perched birds? (I know to turn it off for BIF) and will IS help on a monopod and if so which mode?
*I know to handhold shoot with this lens yet in certain conditions and after a period I enjoy the monopod, especially while being patient with birds.
TIA
