Giants of the Forest | Short film from Finland | 2014

Hi, I would like to post my new short film that I took whilst in Finland photographing the bears / wolverines / wolves this summer.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXZdo9X8jQc - 1080p / fullscreen best as usual!

All footage was taken ' Wild Brown Bear ' - www.wbb.fi
A really amazing place in Europe to see these large predators in the wilderness.

It's far from perfect but it's a great memento.

All taken with Canon 5D Mark ii
Canon 70-200 F4
Canon 24-105
Sigma 300mm F2.8 (now for sale actually - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321631031914?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649)

Nice job ... so great footage. :)

Did you just shoot 5D2 h.264 video or have you tried Magic Lantern raw video yet ? The resolution looks great.

I'm using ML raw video on my Canon 5D2 and it's given it a new leae of life ! :D

Thanks everyone,

Yup, I just shot it straight out of the camera. I have tried the raw video at home, but just hadn't had it set up when I arrived so ended up shoot h.264. With a little PP it still does the job!
I will make an effort this year to shoot some raw video!!

Nice job! I live in Finland, but never saw a bear or wolf in forests.
where was this video shot? Somewhere in lapland?

They saw you first. Good for you.
You can get more and more Encounters of the Third Kind near the eastern border in Karelia.
Shooting a video like that takes a lot of time, patience and skill, that is for sure.
