That seems pretty high, new ones sell for that now on ebay and used ones go for $2600-$3000. maybe start at $3100 and consider a lower offer. Having the original sales receipt along with original box will help it sell faster, because you can show its not gray market. You can check ebay to see actual selling prices.

well its 4399 when . i bought it new in 2017. now its 4099 new from most major authorized resellers. i was gonna ask around 3300. i also have screen protectors on it and use a silicone case and low mileage, 10k on shutter. think thats reasonable? so my ,y best offer has been 3000. dunno if i should jump on it or not.

First of all, you should be aware if you talk about USD or CAD. So 3000 CAD seems quite good, used ones here in Switzerland cost down to 2100 CHF, without flying off the shelves. Also, the EOS R is directly aimed at 5D users, so don't wait too long to sell it, as long as the price is there.

A friend of mine have just purchased a gray market 5D4 online and paid USD2049 (around CAD2700)
The seller do not ship to Canada. He crossed the border and picked it up when he went to the Niagara Casino. He showed the border custom the camera but the officer just waved him off and did not require him to declare. (If he has to pay tax, the total cost is only CAD 3050)

The camera is brand new in box with all the accessories.

If somebody offer you Cad 3K, it seems quite good. However, if you keep the camera for a year or so, the price isn't going to drop a lot.

FYI, a Toronto gray market dealer just put up an ad for a brand new 5D4 for C$3200 no tax.
How does a Toronto seller avoid the HST? I used to live there, but its been 25 years ago, so I don't know how things are done now.

Just Curious. I know there are some sellers on kijii, how do they avoid taxes for selling a new item? Sounds shady and risky.

The ad is in a buy and sell forum as private sale.
