Other postprocessing forums, anyone?

Yo all, currently I have a couple of questions regarding post-processing technique, but looking at the current participation over here (thanks for always replying, pdb :)) I guess I should also ask on another site for this specific matter.

Question: What other photog sites are out there (English or German) that deal with post-processing and have users sharing their results, discuss them and give advice?

Reason for asking is that I am quite picky about forums, I hate over-moderation of smug mods and the participants should be considerate and have a wide range of points of view. Fortunately, at least among photogs it's less likely to run into total nerds with the social competence of a potted plant like with coders :p

Thanks for any links/advice!

Marsu, I suggest good books and video workshop sites such as Lynda.com or Kelbyone.com. Then, of course, apply, apply, apply. While forums can be a good place to have questions answered, watch out, ahem, for endless debate about things that don't matter and will keep you away from post processing.

Have you explored 1x.com for inspiration, critiques, and discussion?

Also, the Out of the Box forum on birdphotographers.net is NOT even mostly about birds, but about more artistic, edgy processing. http://www.birdphotographers.net/forums/forumdisplay.php/51-Out-Of-The-Box-In-Camera-and-Post-Processing-Techniques

Thanks for the link, as for the method: Sooner or later, you want to show around your results and get some nice, but critical feedback from some other photogs who can tell personal style/preference from technique. The POTN forum looks nice, even it's a very large site unlike small & personal CR.

... that's hxxp://www.lightroomforums.net ... I don't like this one, the regulars are the ones selling (and promoting) their commercial plugins.

If you dare to criticize anything about LR (i.e. have ideas on even further improvements to a totally terrific product) you're regularly told if LR doesn't have it, you don't need it. That's staring with LR 1.0 and progressing with each new version :p. And if you've got a problem, it's certainly not LR's fault, catalogs with 50k+ images are just fine and snappy, yadayadayada

The LR forum's the exact type why I'd rather ask around here, it simply takes too much time to figure out what the general mood of a forum is.

And people who are on CR and read this obviously have a similar taste than me, i.e. helpful and competent from a wide range of experiences, but not dead serious or lacking entertainment value.

There may be the sort of tightly wound presence that you describe at LR Forums, but it's been very useful to me on odd occasions when I've needed a hand. Likewise I've been able to offer solutions to others. Maybe I've been able to avoid threads there that involve opinion, rather than straight data.

Yep, CR is a great, friendly place to get info that will cut through the mountain of rubbish that inhabits much of the world-wide-web.

Ah ha, got a good chuckle out of that one this morning. Many's a true word spoken in jest ;D

You do know that ML counts as coding ;D

Yeah you are a coder, and since Canon has no documentation you can be counted as a nerd, so what do you have against both  ??? ;D also if the only skill is coding one can be called a coder, but since it usually has more to it, the name becomes software engineer/developer 8)

That's correct, and I have a lot of respect for software engineers or architects - you need social skills for this as you work in a team and have to have then end user in mind. Alas, these are mostly employed and make a lot of €€€, the "coders" I had in mind are the ones flaming each other to a crisp on oss mailing lists and bug trackers. I hope I can make my distinction clear.
