Premiere 2020

I may be silly but my Adobe Premiere just updated to 2020 and I needed to export a video. It took about 1/5 of the time the same project took in 2019 version. Did they actually make it an efficient and powerful program now? I haven't had a chance to play around with it yet, so I can't say anything more.

I could almost not use proxies anymore with my 4k footage too. That could save a bit of time.

I think you will find it very much depends on your platform, GPU and CODEC.

Well the 2020 version of the program has improved things for me, keeping all those variables the same.

I know a lot of Apple owners are reporting dramatic improvements on speed using the new software on the same hardware, that is entirely down to changing the underlying way the software leverages that hardware, to be honest I use FCPX rather than Premier (which I used first) because as an Apple user the Adobe program just didn't hold a candle to the Apple software and I could often not bother with proxy files in FCPX but never could with Premier.
