RP for $1000.00

Apparently Canon is running a standard rebate on the RP for, basically, $1000.

I'm actually tempted to do it. But first I will have to handle one. (I've been able to handle an R, but not an RP.) And of course it's really $1200 because I'll want the adapter with control ring.

Yes. . . temptation is there. I have seen this "discount", as I was pursuing thoughts of the M6 II.

The M6-II is only a "little" cheaper, but about the same once you add the EVF and adapter. In both cases, I have a PILE of EF lenses that I would use on the camera, and NONE of the native lenses has appeal (except the 35-1.4 M)

I believe it's a 32, and yes, it's a good lens.

I plan to get an M6 II...once I am tired of waiting for the M5 II (or it comes out and is lacking the flippy screen).

I actually prefer the handling and ergonomics of the RP to the R. That being said, for me the grip is practically a necessity to handle any large L lenses on it.

I have a R, and bought the grip after finding it difficult to handle with large lenses. The RP is great for cases where you want to take it along and use smaller lenses, but with a 70-200 f/2.8, it will be difficult to handle for extended shooting.
