Tamron 70-300 SP Di VC on EOS M5

Hi guys,

I ordered a Tamron 70-300 with the original Canon lens adapter for my M5, assuming it would behave as any other original Canon lens. Now I talked to Tamron and they say that this lens will not be compatible in this setup. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Based on reviews, I ordered the Tamron 70-300 for my backpacking. However, if this will result in issues I will quickly order the Canon 70-300, which is slightly more expensive though

No direct experience, but Tamron didn't update the firmware on all their lenses to support recent Canon cameras. Sounds like the 70-300 is one of those.
