Where to post your photos?

Hello!

I am new here and I hope I´m posting in the right subcategory:

Some of my friends asked me to show them some of my shots over the internet. I am an amateur, not an professional photographer. Mostly shooting birds and landscape.
But where to place my shots? Picasa? 500px?
Which of this www solutions are free and offer an good image quality? And where do I not loose my rights, if I post it? Posting just for fun, not for selling shots

There are several, but the only one I have personally used is 500px. When you upload you can choose a box to add their watermark over the image to protect yourself somewhat. You can choose to offer images for sale or not, but I do not since they lowered the percentage of the sale they give to photographers. In my experience it is a good place to show your work and it is free.

Flickr is free and has a decent look to it (not too much invasive advertisements). I think everything else has a cost associated with it but does generally have a benefit of being ad free). I personally use Smugmug and like it.
