• UPDATE

The forum will be moving to a new domain in the near future (canonrumorsforum.com). I have turned off "read-only", but I will only leave the two forum nodes you see active for the time being.

I don't know at this time how quickly the change will happen, but that will move at a good pace I am sure.

You are not going to find a test camera exif with 1DsMark IV in it. Test cameras will have a code identifying which of the many versions of test camera it is. The firmware is not going to have a new model number in it until it gets to the production stage.

Canon does not allow testers to post images online, and does not provide raw conversion software, so jpeg images must be used.

Any posting like the one referred to should be extremely suspect.

They may not let certain beta testers post online, but the images from beta cams do go online. They also get printed in magazines, in wedding albums, advertising media etc.

It wouldn't be very profitable for a pro photographer not to be able to use his images - would it?

Very interesting information, thanks for the explanation. Can I assume then, that you have tested some pre-production models at least in the past :P
