Any rumors on a new 200mm f2?

Hello guys, I hope you had a great Easter weekend. I'm on the market for a 200mm f2 lens, which I used to own but had to part with for some financial reasons 3 years ago. I haven't visited CR website regularly during the past few months and might miss the information. Is there any hint that a new 200mm f2 is coming in a near future? I know there were some rumors on new 200mm and 800mm lenses last year, but do we have any new information on that?

Not that I'm aware of, but mine is by far the best lens I own. I wouldn't be disappointed in the slightest to keep mine if a new version was released. Even if rumors come out for a lens being developed and the rumor is true, the time to market is usually far too long for me to wait anyway.

That's very true, Mike. I enjoyed using my 200L but it was a little heavier than I liked (not bad but still...). So, I was hoping that the new one will feature the reduced weight. Optically, I don't really need any other improvements.

I love my 200mm 1.8. When you need a high speed tele, not much else will do.

I actually know of one being sold (a 200mm f/2) for $3,750 on an astronomy website

Which one? Never thought about checking any astronomy websites for Canon glasses Thanks
