• UPDATE

The forum will be moving to a new domain in the near future (canonrumorsforum.com). I have turned off "read-only", but I will only leave the two forum nodes you see active for the time being.

I don't know at this time how quickly the change will happen, but that will move at a good pace I am sure.

Notice that the price of the extended warranty of the 1Ds IV is less than the 1Ds III and is Identical to the 1D III/IV

I doubt that the new 1Ds mk IV will be cheaper than the current 1Ds mkIII

also they group 40D with the 7D and the 50D is in a seperate price point

there is also the missing 600D and 1100D

I think its probably a mistake

Very true, however you could argue that older bodies -> more likely to go wrong -> charge higher warranty price .... gotta love the speculation!

Canon makes many mistakes, like no announcement, they are the one who generate this kind of prank. Get used to it. May be they will change sooner or later. But don't know cannot trust canon it might be true, who knows.

Just noticed that in the UK, Jessops have stopped listing the 1DsIII.

That is not a typo or omission, it is deliberate. The 1D4 is available on back order, but 1DsIII not listed at all...

So, maybe a 1Ds4 is on its way...

Plenty of bargains to be had with a 5D2 as well across most the dealers... £2100 for 5D2 + 24-105 is not a bad deal at all. Almost worth buying to split and sell!

simple, historically, Jessops have always charged a bit more than most retailers for the higher end kit - hence they can claim bigger reductions when they match every one else to clear stock :)
