It’s great to know that Canon thinks I’m due for an upgrade. I’m not sure if they think I should upgrade my EOS R to an EOS R or upgrade my EOS R3 to an EOS R.

But you are right, this summer promo is uninteresting compared to the ones a few years ago (I got my RF 24-105 L for Euro 760 in Italy, now it's 1499...).

You need to do both, then upgrade those to M50s. Then of course upgrade those to an R3 and an R in that order (not an R and an R3). That way you'll finally have the optimum setup. (Your problem now, of course, is that you have those two cameras, but in the wrong order.)
