Why? Cell phones have killed this market.
I'm still waiting for a good cell phone with an optical zoom. When that day happens it may kill/reduce the need for cameras like this but until then....

It would be awesome :)
would be for sure. and would they got APS-C/DPAF nice sensor in there as well, and really rock it out?

probably not because we're not allowed to have nice things.

Now you are asking too much :p However, with that lens, I would also be happy with the M6 sensor.

Cell phones killed the cheap small sensor market(except for super zooms). The large sensor APS-C market does quite well, even the smaller 1 inch sensor bodies sell well.

For smaller sensor compacts yes, but superzoom, travel cameras and compacts with larger sensor(1") are doing quite well. I have been using Sony RX100 Mk2 instead of cell phone as my daily shooter.

As long as it has EVF I'm buying. Take my money Canon. Please.
probably be no different than the G1X Mark II - which was an external EVF.

especially if they try to keep the size around the same *AND* increase the sensor size.

I use my G7X Mark II for travel and casual shots, and its 1" sensor does really well. The G1X is a larger and better similar camera, right?

I still take photos with my iPhone plenty of times, but it is no substitute for a camera with a zoom lens and a larger sensor.

I find there is a huge difference between the "1 inch" sensor and the G1x, which is virtually a 7x5 format of the aps -c. Somewhere in between the two sensor sizes is the tipping point between "small" sensors and large.
