looks like only lenses manufactured in 2022 are affected, my 50 1.2 is at least a decade old. I would guess that most of the 50 1.2 ef lenses out in the wild are not going to be part of the recall
But it's an interesting data point that Canon did a production run of this EF lens last year.

I was trying to find the article I read, but can't. However, my understanding is that Canon keeps making lenses until they are officially discontinued.
They go to "Final Sale" status until supply runs out and then the status changes to "Discontinued".
However, you are correct in that internally "Final Sale" is discontinued.
