Canon sale price adjustments

Is there any price adjustments comming soon for Canada due to the recent increase of the canadian dollars?

I am currently looking to get a Canon &d and noticed price went up a least 50$ in Toronto in the past 3-4 days...

Hi Nico,

I guess and hope this is only related to Japan earthquake. But in a longer term, an higher canadian dollard should bring prices of canon gear in Canada a bit lower, hopefully.

I think the Canon rebate actually ended. A specific shop in Toronto still got it a 1439, i went to another (preferred) shop today and manage to get the same price from 1529 to 1439.

Canon has big investments in US dollars, which helps shield US prices from Changes to the value of the Yen. Canon Canada seems to raise prices due to stronger yen, but you seldom, if ever, see a drop.

In reality, they are part of Canon North America, so Canadians should be paying the same as the USA. Right now, some of the big white lenses and cameras are cheaper in Canada

Right now, for a 7D, The camera Store in Calgary charges $1519 http://www.thecamerastore.com/products/cameras/digital-cameras/digital-slr-cameras/canon-eos-7d-body

while Adorama has $1599 US for a 7D. http://www.adorama.com/ICA7D.html

So, the answer is that you should not expect to see decreases, and might even see a increase.
