canon T2i + Zeiss 50mm macro planar ZE - Question

Recently I loaned this lens from a friend. I expected to be blown away by the results.

Well....

The pictures are super sharp this is true, however:

- The colors are somewhat dull.
- Portraits are somewhat warm/dark/underexposed
- overall color not accurate and somewhat missing "brightness".

Very Very frustrating. Any ideas from experienced users ?

Example:

You may need to calibrate your monitor... That looks nice and vibrant to me! I like the color. I think it looks great. Sooo... whats the problem now!? ;D

it's micro contrast, that's turning you off, I have the 35f2 ZE and it's sharper than my 35L at f2 but you get a lot of micro contrast just the way Zeiss is made.
