Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, German Touring Car Masters)

The Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM, German Touring Car Masters) is a sports car racing series sanctioned by ADAC.
The series is based in Germany, with rounds elsewhere in Europe. The series currently races a modified version of Group GT3 grand touring cars.
The 2024 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters season contains the brands of Audi, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.
I managed to get there with my gear on Sunday, July 7th, at the Norisring street circuit in Nürnberg, Bavaria, Germany.
For those familiar with the track, I was sitting in the Schöller S grandstand.

Here I start with some impressions of the main DTM GT3 race.
Nicki Thiim in the yellow Lamborghini #94 was the pole setter and was able to clinch a start-finish victory.

I am really pleased that I can get an average of about 1 or 2 sharp photos out of 10.
The great R6m2 AF doesn't help here, when you have too much vertical movement. IS helps only a bit.
Seems dragonflies in flight (DIF) is a good training

The #3 was turned by the #14.
Now a power slide to continue again.

The DTM is a full-contact sport. Or as a friend of mine puts it:

"The distances between the race cars or to the crash barriers have to be NEGATIVE."

The Schäffler BMW was touched by a competitor and his right fender took it badly.
Nice carbon splintering.
Later, he even lost his right headlight, triggering a safety car phase.
The DTM always has something to offer.
