Its probably a good tool for someone with a fixed setup where the manual output can be preset, and then just placed in slave mode. Obviously, its not going to be settable thru the camera.

I have some of the old Sunpak large flash units that have slave modules included and can be used in manual or preset to a fixed output.

I also have a high tech Nikon flash unit, far more light output than a cube ;) I remember using those press 25 bulbs, they were painful to the eyes, not only because of the brightness, but the long duration. I have quite a few still.

2nd curtain sync in wireless mode?
RT radio wireless?

if yes, count me in. if no, keep it.

Even if it does have that, there's no way I'd consider it with only 8 levels of flash brightness control...

If it had a 4 stop range in half stops, it would still be highly useful as a cheap way of adding splashes of colour on backgrounds or adding some hair light in a portrait. With 8 full-stop settings, it'd be tricky to get the balance right between flashes.
Anyone asking me would be recommended to add three dollars and get the Neewer with 1/8 stop power levels: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004LEAYXY/ref=psdc_3109929011_t1_B01I09WHLW

Well that's a fair point, for splashes and other accents, it could be just fine.
