From Singapore to Australia

Can anyone give me any info on importing a camera from singapore to australia? Is it import tax exempt?

only if its under $1000
if its over $1000 they can nail you for 10% GST + 5% import duty

its cheaper to buy it online from hongkong and have it mailed in there is
a high chance it wont get checked and you wont get charged but
they can and do stop packages which they hold until you pay those fees
